Faux Fur Coats

There are more coats in my closet than one person really needs, but every fall I still love shopping for at least one new coat.  This year I have my eye on a number of faux fur coats.  I learned the hard way when living in Virginia that you need to shop for coats when it is still hot outside for a good selection.  Need to buy a coat in February and you will be out of luck although there will be plenty of bathing suits for sale.  It’s not coat season yet here in California, but I’m ready to shop!

Festival Fashion

I question whether Coachella really has anything to do with music anymore or if it is now just a place to go to parties and show off festival fashion.  Either way, I admit that I look forward to seeing the best of festival fashion each year.

Music festivals are the perfect time to pull out your favorite boho chic or hippie look.  Have fun with cut off shorts, flowy pants, a crochet top, anything with tassels or fringe, a crossbody bag and a hat or sunglasses.

My Oscar Dress

If I were a celebrity going to the Oscars, I would choose something elegant, but with a touch of sass.  I don’t understand celebrities who don’t look good on the red carpet.  They have so many choices that when they pick an awful dress, they must be doing it on purpose to try to stand out.

I don’t really care about who wins any of the awards, I just like seeing what the women are wearing.  My favorite actress lately is Jennifer Lawrence, so although I’m not loving her short hair, I still want to see what she is wearing!

Back to Work

Today was my first day back to work after being off for a few months.  My last company was quite casual and I often felt out of place when dressing up.  Now with the new company I am looking to be inspired with some nicer looks for the office.

Vegas Dresses

Retailers should be happy whenever I travel since I seem to think I need new clothes and shoes for each trip.  I love Vegas so much that I have forgotten how many times I have been there. My next trip to Vegas is not planned yet, but I am itching to go so badly that I am already starting to look for new dresses. “Vegas dresses” are a category of their own in my wardrobe since I cannot wear dresses like this really anywhere else.

I usually wear all black in Vegas, or jeans and a black shirt.  I’m trying to expand my wardrobe horizons a bit and wear some color…or at least not all black.

Sequins are a must for at least one outfit in Vegas.  If you think there is no such thing as too many sequins, then this navy all sequin dress is it.

I usually wear more silver than gold, but I do like this black dress with gold sequins.

Since it gets cool in Vegas in the winter, something like this white dress with sleeves may avoid the need for a coat (although I doubt it).  I would definitely need to spray tan though before wearing this to pull off white in the winter.

This white and silver dress would be perfect with silver shoes and a sparkly silver bag.  If it is going to be cold I would probably add a leather biker jacket to it for fun.

All black and short is what I like to wear in Vegas.  Even though I say I want to add some color, I usually end up with mostly black.  This black dress is definitely me.

Or this foil dress could be fun too.

Which do you like the best?
